Interesting facts
The Aleut tribes were very good at weaving baskets. The women there would make grass baskets and mats. They were much known for their basket weaving. For clothing, since the arctic is one of the harshest climates in the world, warmth was very important for clothing. They even made water proof clothing made from seal guts. They also wore hats make from bird skin.
Russians discovered the Aleuts and made forced them to become Christians. In world war two the Japanese held them as hostages. Some people think Aleuts are part of the arctic but they’re not their Aleutian and that’s what they are.
There aren’t any interesting places but there can be cool things you think is amazing like if you see a place that has a family of polar bears there or look at tundra up close so it’s all your chose it’s your opinion.
Culture
The Aleut Indians would tattoo their faces to show their accomplishments for example, if they caught their own prey by their self for the first time or do something they thought they could do before, but they did it. The Russians made them into slaves and forced them to hunt for seals and to do other stuff. Their food is mostly seafood but not all of it some are land animals and fruit also some edible plants. Their housing are apartments divided by grass mats and are heated by seal and oil lamps.
In the Aleut tribe they would tattoo their face when they make an accomplishment. For example, when the Aleut caught their first animal they gave out tattoos to the people who caught the animal. The most important animal for the tribe is the seal because they would use the meat for food. The skin for clothing, their bones for tool, and their fat is candles to make heat inside their houses. In Alaska, the people who live there NEED to have skills. They have to be good at hunting. That was very important in the arctic to survive because that’s how they get food.
